May 2013 The renowned educational institute Gurukul Vidyapeeth has launched Petrochem Engineering, the first ever North Indian to offer this course that changes the way of life of a student. Announcing launch of this new course here today, Chairman of the Institute CA Manmohan Kumar Garg said that the AICTE approved B Tech in Petrochem Engineering is much more than a course. “The Program offers great job placements alternate to exist program, he said the Institute will serve the nation by providing specialized Technology.
Director-cum-principal Dr S.C Jain added that Petrochem Engineering is a very high paying Engineering Program. Monthly salary of a Chief Engineer is above Rs 5 lacs, of second Engineer is Rs 4 to 5 lacs, and of the third Engineer is Rs 3.00 to 3.5 lacs, of the fourth Engineer is Rs 2.5 to 3.00 lacs and that of fifth Engineer is Rs 200000 to 250000. The Petroleum Companies of India offers monthly stipend of Rs 15000 to fresh Petrochem Engineers. Experienced Petrochem Engineer’s salary ranges between Rs. 5 Lacs to Rs 15 lacs per annum. The median salary is Rs. 8 lacs per annum.

The Shipping Corporation of India offers monthly stipend of Rs 25000 to fresh Marine Engineers. Experienced Marine Engineer’s salary ranges between Rs. 6 Lacs to Rs 36 lacs per annum. The median salary is Rs. 14 lacs per annum

Aerospace engineering involves the design, construction and science of airplanes and space vehicles and uses computer technology in the design space extensively. Aeronautical engineering uses the science of propulsion and aerodynamics.

Around 120 persons Campaigning staff and student of Gurukul Vidyapeeth formed the pet of the rally carried out in Banur Town. 14 Dec 2012 Looking for ways to create awareness on the declining sex ratio in the district, Gurukul Vidyapeeth Institute of Engineering & Technology organize Rally March as ‘Kanya Janm Mahotsav’ in the Rajpura . Around 150 students from Gurukul Vidyapeeth. The Rally told about the constantly dipping sex-ratio, its reasons and consequences. Various important suggestions and questions emerged: ‘dowry should be abolished’, ‘foeticide isn’t limited to any specific religion or ethnic group’, ‘girls have equal right to live’.

Recruitment Companies were TNS, Airtel Digital Tv, Havells, India mart , Angel Broking , Code Studio, Map my India, Pridhi Healthcare ,Energies Gym, Apple Blossom, Site 7 Media , Intellisense Technologies , Café Coffee day , Alert Knowledge Systems., Tech Netra ,Infowijz etc. Presentation was delivered followed by written test and HR round. Total 332 students were selected on the average package of Rs. 3.00 Lac. Free Bus service was provided for all students from various points of Chandigarh, Patiala , Ambala, Panchkula ,Mohali, Rajpura Zirakpur and Kharar during the placement week.

The Chief Guest on the second day of CRESCENDO 2012 was graced by Mr.A.K.Pandey, DIG, SSG, and Punjab Police. He said that Techno Cultural Fest aimed atserving a platform for all interested students to showcase their skills, creativity & ingenuity. He added that such celebrations are the soul of any institution that creates the actual realm for the institutional advancement. . On the final day the festival sucessfully concluded when the students rocked to the beats of songs of the famous Punjabi singer, Jelly. It was a show of excellence and brilliance.
