Aeronautical Society Gurukul Vidyapeeth is the first private institute of Punjab region to have Student Chapter of the Aeronautical Society of India, Chandigarh Branch. Joining hands with prestigious The Aeronautical Society of India is to promote the advancement and diffusion of the knowledge of aeronautical sciences and aircraft engineering as well as elevation of the Aeronautical profession. Considering the tremendous growth in the Aerospace activities in the Country Gurukul Vidyapeeth along with The Aeronautical Society of India will bring in awareness among students to help in overall development of the students in the this field.
Solar Car Demonstration @Gurukul ![]() Gurukul Vidyapeeth is organizing "Solar Car Demonstration" with the help of British Council & British Library Chandigarh on Saturday, 20th February 2010, 11.30 am at Gurukul Vidyapeeth South Campus, Banur. Mr. Tom Boddington & Ms. Natasha Samtha from Glyndwr University, Wales, UK will give the demonstration of the Solar Car.
International Women Day Celebration ![]() Gurukul Vidyapeeth Group of Institutes celebrated International Women’s Day by honouring 30 renowned womenof Chandigarh region on March 8, 2010. On the occasion of International Women’s Day the Institute honoured the women who are making a difference to the society. They belong to different-different genres like Education, Corporate World, NGO’s , Art & Craft, Politics and many more. Hon’ble Mr. Harchar Singh Bains, Media Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The programme began with jyoti prajwalan and later on a play on the theme “Female Foeticide and Female Education was also demonstrated on the occasion. Some of the dignitaries who were honoured were Ms. Promila Chandra, Head SOREM; Ms. Pooja Passi, Project Director, PSTF; Ms. Aarti, Social Worker, Time Health Care; Ms. Amarjit Dhillon, Social Worker; Ms. Puneeta Singh, Founder of NGO ‘Saathi’, Mrs. Ratinder Kohli, Educationalist and Psychologist. Pre-Budget Talk ![]() Keeping into view the affect of upcoming budget, a Pre Budget Session was organized by Gurukul Vidyapeeth at PHD Chamber. . It was platform developed by Gurukul Vidyapeeth for Economists, Bankers, Educationists, Businessmen and common men to discuss their views about the upcoming union budget 2010-2011.The discussion panel for this talk was comprised of Mr. S.K. Chadha(Educationist), Mr. Vishal Kaushal (Banker ), Mr. Prem Garg (Chartered Accountant) and Mr. Anil Talwar (Business Man). The discussion was focused that it is very important to discuss the budget related issues for the students as well as this will increase their participation and interest in the economy.
Employee Retention Workshop As part of its ongoing series of ventures the department of Research and Development, Gurukul Vidyapeeth under the guidance of Shri Manmohan Garg CEO of Gurukul Vidyapeeth organized an interactive session on employee retention. He gave various strategies and ideas to retain employees and also to intake talented and skillful people. Corporate is facing a lot of problems due to high turnover ratio these days Employee retention involves taking measures to encourage employees to remain loyal to the company and stick to organization for long time. In today’s environment it becomes very important for organizations to retain their employees as getting new people and training them is costing higher to the company.Mr. Rakesh Sharma Business Head (North) HT media Pvt. limited presided over the workshop as chief guest and Mr. Rajiv Khosla, CEO of Reliance Broadband was the guest of honor.
CEO Meet ![]() In its odyssey of providing value based, industry focused and holistic education to the budding professionals of this region, Gurukul Vidyapeeth organized first CEOs Meet on Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) at Hotel Taj, Chandigarh. As many as eighty eight CEOs of Small and Medium Industries came together in these Industry-Academia deliberations. Understanding the need for academia and industry to work togather, Gurukul Vidyapeeth as an academic institution have to shift from traditional academic models to revenue based models. In today’s competitive times, Industry cannot wait for long induction trainings or on-the-job trainings for its new recruits, but, needs graduates who are able to take-over and adapt to the systems very fast. Mr Garg said, we at Gurukul Vidyapeeth, has taken this initiative of industry focused education which is first of its kind in the region and have named this project as “Smadhan-09”. |
